AURORAE YOGI TIPS
1) Wash your mat down with a soft brush and a tablespoon of dishwashing liquid or detergent mixed with warm water then rinse off. I usually do this in the shower if I can't do it outside and hang over my shower rod to dry. Repeat if necessary.
2) Hang dry outside if possible. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER.
3) Another tip from a yogi was to mix white vinegar and warm water, about a 4 to 1 ratio and wipe your mat down with a sponge then let dry.
4) To keep your mat fresh and clean mix fresh lemon with water in a spray bottle. You can use this to naturally clean your mat while also giving it a fresh natural scent. Do as needed after use.
5) Wash your hands with soap and water before class to reduce any natural oils in your hands.
6) Do not use creams or oils on your hands or feet before your practice.
7) Always keep a cotton towel* (available by Aurorae) near you to wipe away any perspiration.
8) If necessary use an Aurorae Yoga Rosin Bag to absorb any perspiration and increase gripping power.

I bought this Mat to try out yoga on P90X and works great. I also use it for any other exercises that require the floor. It's very sturdy and the cushion is just right that it reduces high impact moves. I would recommend this to anyone.

Mr. Ingui, thank you so much! Over the years, I have wasted my hard-earned dollars on several yoga mats, only to be extremely disappointed in the quality and functionality of the yoga mat. A couple of months ago, I was bound and determined to sit down at my son's laptop and research the choices on the internet for the purchase of a mat. I came home from my yoga class that afternoon so incredibly frustrated with the mat that I purchased from a major retailer that I threw it in the trash! At this stage of the game in the purchase choices I made, I thought to myself, "what do I have to loose? If I'm not satisfied with the Aurorae mat, I can always return it. Now I must admit, I let my new Aurorae mat sit in the wrapper for another week before I finally "took the plunge" and opened it! I even kept the box by which it was delivered. I opened it, followed your instruction washing it with mild detergent using warm/warm wash cycle. Couldn't dry it in the sun because it was still winter weather here in Dallas. Dried it in the house, rolled it up, placed in my bag for my upcoming class, and off to class I went that week. As I particiapted in my class, I was on "Cloud 9" with the performance of my mat. Durability, flexibility, thickness......PERFECT! I've had minor knee surgery and I can manage every yoga pose perfectly on this mat. Even your color choices for the mats are heavenly! I've recommended the Aurorae mats to several students in my class. Thank you so much; I can never thank you enough. This mat is the "Rolls Royce" of yoga mats!! I just ordered the Aurorae accessories yesterday (towel & resin) and anxiously awaiting their arrival!

Summary : Superb Customer Service!
This is one thick, luxurious mat! I love the focal point icon, but I've been using my mat upside down for my Iyengar practice, since I seem to slip less on the thinner side of the mat. Maybe once it breaks in, I'll be able to flip it back over. What struck me at first was the complete lack of nauseating odor most yoga mats are notorious for, which made it great for practice straight out of the box.
Dennis, the CEO is genuinely proud of this product and went above and beyond to provide me with some excellent tips on how to break in the mat and help with a slipping problem I've been experiencing. He even sent a free Rosin Bag along, which has helped my sweaty feet tremendously. If you're in the market for a new yoga mat, support a wonderful small business and be confident in your purchase. Summary : love the long length
I was really unhappy with another mat and decided on this one because of the great reviews and great price. I am very pleased with it. It had great tips on how to break it in and care for the mat. I also really like the extra long length and the extra thickness that you just don't see in the standard yoga mat.

Summary : Great product, great company
Others have pretty much said it all. The mat doesn't have that horrible new yoga mat smell. It has good cushioning that even supports my knees when holding positions for a few minutes at a time in my Yin class. The focal point has really helped my balanced on certain poses. The company is incredibly responsive to concerns - I received great feedback about how to break in the mat. Don't hesitate to give this product a try. From my experience, the seller will stand by their product 100%.
